This is a gem of a little hotel, if only because of its very bright, south facing rooms on the upper floors. It's located in the Giap Bat district, a good distance from the western touristic enclaves such as the Old Quarter. It's a fascinating little neighbourhood comprising a maze of alleys chock full of cafes/eateries and hotels catering to local trade, primarily traffic from the large bus depot nearby. It's off the main 1A artery that connects conveniently to destinations north and south of the city. As a Westerner, you'll get lots of curious stares. The young hotel staff reserved but friendly and helpful nonetheless. If you feel adventurous and would like a break from the touristic hustle, this is a good place to 'disappear' in. Xem tiếp

No one at this hotel spoke English. When checking in the manager requested my passport, I explained to him through my Interpreter friend that I would not give my passport to anyone, after some arguing he then produced a form that required my passport information which I completed. The rooms were old with resident cockroaches. At 8.30pm I received a phone call in my room from the manager, luckily my friend was still with me. The manager requested we come to reception where he aggressively demanded that i hand over my passport or be evicted from the hotel. The outside temperature was 7 degrees it was raining heavily and the hotel is located down a dark alley. I refused and was subsequently evicted. I have no doubt the aggressive behaviour combined with the time of night coupled with the very bad weather was a deliberate attempt to blackmail me into handing over my passport. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!
