We booked two nights because of the great reviews, also from a certain Youtuber, but we were a bit disappointed. On arrival we were greeted by a friendly older lady who didn't speak English at all and at first wanted to take more money from us for the very kind upgrade they gave us to do 701, but after calling someone she handed us back our change. Then the room was beautiful at first, but there was a lot of dust everywhere, even on the bed. The fridge was so smelly we didn't use it. Later we had asked for some advice, since everyone said they gave great help. We wanted to rent a moterbike and she went away for a minute and brought back a man who wanted to charge us more than others and when we declined he was visually pissed, and murdered some words and left. We didn't bother asking for more help, even with the Translator App. We changed the hotel after the two days but honestly it's really cheap. I payed extra to have a room with an ocean view. Sure you had one if you opened the solid shutters and doors, but if you did that, than AC was pointless and it was too hot to go without. Disappointing there wasn’t a view if you wanted a cool room. Bed was on the old side and smelled. Good location and no bed bugs. Xem tiếp

Phu Thanh is a great waterfront hotel & Thanh who runs it is fantastic. The hotel is very clean & good beds. Spring for a seaview room & you won't be sorry. We were on the 9th floor & had fabulous views. We also did a cruise & the hotel kept our luggage for us while we were gone. I also had to have a credit card shipped to me & it didn't arrive when it was supposed to. Thanh was kind enough to take me to the post office where he thankfully translated for me. Thank you! We ended up staying another 2 days but there's worse places than extending our time in Cat Ba! Hotel has an elevator as well. It's well situated on the main drag with lots of restaurants around it. The hotel will also get your laundry done for the going rate. Need a motorbike? No problem. Same with bus tickets, etc. Highly recommend Phu Thanh! Xem tiếp

I could not complain...for the price we got we had a room with an excellent view of the Bay... The hotel is right on the main promenade overlooking Cat Ba. Our shuttle bus from Tran Anh dropped us right infront of the hotel. There was a lift and the room was large and spacious. Only drawback is that they do not have a restaurant, but plenty around when you exit the main gate. The reception has a deserted look after 9 pm...but the staff are polite and helpful. Xem tiếp

I cannot recommend this place enough!! Trust me, you should treat yourself to a sea view room here...the view from the private balcony is beautiful beyond words. The staff is kind and helpful, the room was very clean and the AC worked well. I have no complaints whatsoever. While the price is slightly higher than others in the area, the value is so much more than I expected. And that view from the balcony is priceless... Xem tiếp

Very nice see view room, with hot water, good AC. Everything was very clean. The owner is a very nice man, always smiling, he offers very good tours on the best price. The 1 day board tour was very relaxing and well organized. He helped us by arrangeing the trip back to Hanoi on a far cheaper price than we came tó Cat ba. I will stay here again. Great place to stay. Very value for money. Host is very friendly althought cant speak much english. Place is clean, comfortable, convenient and easy to find food. The seaview there is amazing.
