This little hotel is located near the hoan kiem lake in Hanoi, so a very good starting point to explore Hanoi. We enjoyed our stay here very much and the staff was always kind and helpful. Would love to come back ! Xem tiếp

We stayed at three hotels and one hostel during our stay in Hanoi and Maison D' Orient was by far the least clean, yet the most expensive. The sheets were stained and had multiple hairs, the floor dusty, and the bathroom shower looked like it had never had a deep cleaning. This would have been just a minor nuisance but the front desk service thought it was funny when we asked to have new sheets. There were also lots of mosquitos in our room upon our arrival, which we didn't expect since our $3 hostel didn't even have this issue. If you don't care about cleanliness and don't mind wearing bug spray to bed, the location is great though! The hotel is in a quiet little alley off the main street but still close to everything in Hoan Kiem. Xem tiếp

This is a great boutique hotel located in the heart of Old Quarter Hanoi but is off-street in a quiet neighborhood. It really met all of my expectations. (Thank you to others who contributed your reviews - they helped make a right decision!) Lovely and helpful staff to lead you from the main road to the hidden hotel. Breakfast was plentiful with made-to-order eggs, fresh fruits, juices, breads and great coffee. (Today they served crepes!) I was glad I decided to use their arranged airport pick-up because it would have been challenging to find the small street on my own. On departure (when you know the lay of the land) it is easy to arrange your own transport back to the airport using Grab. Will definitely recommend this to family and friends. Xem tiếp

The hotel is tucked down a narrow alley in the Old Quarter of Hanoi. The cab, which the hotel arranged, could not get down there, but when we arrived the driver called the hotel and someone came out to meet us and help with the luggage. We were on the 5th floor and there is no elevator, but the bags were taken up for us by one of the staff. Breakfast is served in a small room just above reception. It is simple with toast, jam, pate etc, but eggs are available as is noodle soup if you are so inclined. The staff are all incredibly helpful and there is a safe in reception to stash passports etc. Our room was smallish, but clean with a small balcony and a functional bathroom. It is easy to walk anywhere around the lake and the Old Quarter. Xem tiếp

Awesome location in the Old Quarterof Hanoi. The hotel was within walking distance of most of the attractions in Hanoi that I wanted to visit. Michael and the other staff were friendly and helpful and helped me book a car to pick me up and send me to the airport. Breakfast at the hotel was also good. The place is hidden in a little lane away from the noisy main streets. Staff were friendly, breakfast included was good. They allowed me to leave my bags there after check out, and I went back in the evening to collect my things and change clothes before going to the train station. My husband and I traveled with friends in Hanoi this January and stayed 4 nights at the Maison D'Orient. The #1 best reason to stay there is the location which is on a dead-end alley off a vibrant side street in the center of Oldtown, a short walk to the Catholic church and Cong coffee. The top floor rooms have nice views, hot water is plentiful in the clean and updated bathroom and the staff is very friendly. Recommended! Xem tiếp

We really loved how the hotel is in a very central location in the Old Quarter (only a few minutes walk to Hoan Kiem lake, St. Joseph’s cathedral, etc..) but because it was down a nice side alley, it wasn’t loud at all. As this was my second trip to Hanoi, I knew how loud some streets can get, so I’m very impressed by how peaceful it was. You’re literally steps away from plenty of cafes, restaurants, and even a minimart where we got drinks and snacks! If you are taking any sort of tour where they meet you at your hotel, maybe make a note of the hotels location down a side street to them in advance, some of our tour guides told us it took a few minutes to find the place. Even better, the staff are extremely helpful. They helped us arrange transport to and from the airport (highly recommended taking advantage of this), allowed us to store our luggage after checking out until our late evening flight, and responded to our questions and requests immediately. From the room itself to the friendly customer service, the attention to detail in this hotel is roundly impressive. The location, although tricky to find at first, is central as it gets, and is just far enough out of the way to provide some quiet whilst being in the thick of it all. All the staff were smiley and helpful, and made every effort to provide us with all the info and services we desired. They were also very patient with us when we did experience difficulties with our transportation, and did their best to patiently resolve everything. Chose Maison D' Orient Hotel primarily of its location. This quaint hotel is located within the backpacker's area. A stone's throw away from St. Joseph Cathedral, old quarter, souvenir and coffee shops in Hanoi. The rooms are bit old but clean. Most of the staff are friendly and approachable. We stayed here twice during our trip in Vietnam and were treated like family on our return! The hotel is really stylishly decorated and spotlessly clean. The staff on front desk go out of their way to give you recommendations or help for trips or transport arrangements. Breakfast was really tasty with a few different things to choose from as well as cooked to order hot dishes. The staff were, again, really friendly. The hotel is set back from a busy backpacker street - so you have the benefit of lots going on and plenty of places to eat and drink - without the noise all night. I would definitely stay again. A word of warning - the hotel does not have a lift - this wasn't an issue for us - but for some travellers it might put you off as some rooms are on the 5th floor. Xem tiếp

Slightly old, but the room was quite cozy and stylish in its own way. Needs improvement with lighting and air refreshing. Nice american-style breakfast with local fruits. If you are traveling in a tight budget, this hotel can be a very appealing option. We had a lovely stay at Maison d'Orient - great location, beautiful room with a sweet little balcony, extremely friendly and helpful staff. We booked the Ginger room - I loved how the room smelled faintly of ginger when we arrived, and the huge bathtub (I took two full baths instead of showers simply because I could). We spent my birthday in Hanoi and the staff left flowers and Vietnamese sweets in our room, which was really touching. Would definitely stay here again. Xem tiếp

I felt that everything about Maison D'Orient was excellent, from the rooms and breakfast to the staff, who were all very friendly and accommodating. My 4-year-old and I stayed in both the Star Anise (2 nights) and Ginger (1 night) rooms on the top floor. Spacious, comfortable beds and a great balcony in both. Highly recommended. Xem tiếp

I heard about Maison D' Orient Hotel from my friends who have stayed here, and it was beyond my expectation. The hotel is located at the end of the small alley off a touristic street in the Old Quarter, but it is different from others with charming characters and decorations. To me, it was such an experience to walk past local residences and street food venders before arriving at the accommodation. I originally booked a standard room (even cheaper with my agoda point redemption), and later asked for one with twin beds if available. It turned out the reservation was upgraded to a big one that is usually a family room. You can select either western or Vietnamese breakfast (pho) from the menu, plus toasts, fruits and juice. The staff members were very helpful. When asked about airport taxi reservation, they offered to match the price I found on the internet ($12). I would highly recommend this hotel to all my friends who are visiting Hanoi. Xem tiếp

I am so honored to be the 1st Indonesian guest that has ever stayed in Maison D'Orient! The staffs are amazingly helpful. The location is right in the center of the town. Everywhere you go is walking distance, you will never get lost. The hotel itself is very pleasurable to stay in. The room and the bathroom are very clean (stayed in Cinnamon room), they give you water bottles regularly, there is a hair dryer, a kettle, 2 regular sized umbrellas, a tea set with tea and coffee sachet given in the room daily and the breakfast is very good! They serve fresh fruits and fruit juices, all kinds of eggs you wish for or a bowl of beef pho, and different kinds of breads. To me, this place feels more like home rather than a hotel. It was a very memorable experience staying at Maison D'Orient. Thank you Hien, Michael, Thuy, Tung and the rest of the staffs that has made my stay so unforgettable. Xem tiếp

My boyfriend and I stayed here and were extremely impressed. The neighborhood is actually pretty nice and the staff are awesome. They were really friendly and gave us good advice. The young man who helped us with our bags and took our order for breakfast was so sweet and smiley. The breakfast was great- we always felt ready to take on the day after eating at the hotel. The ambiance is simple and clean and all of the plants and artwork make it a cozy place to stay. Budget hotels can be hit or miss but we were very satisfied with Maison D' Orient and enjoyed just relaxing in our comfortable room after a long day. Also, the wifi was reliable and quick. The only thing I could critique is that I would like to have been able to set my air conditioner at a lower temperature. The architecture of Vietnamese buildings (long and thin with hardly any windows) puts fresh air indoors at a pretty high premium. Xem tiếp
