We chose this place because of the quiet and peaceful reviews, but that is the opposite of what we experienced. The food and location were good and some of the staff were very helpful. However some of the staff made us feel forgotten and not valued guests as compared to the large groups that were there. The room was nice, but the bathroom seemed like a random edition that didn't match the lovely room. The biggest problem with the place was the noise! It was so noisy we couldn't sleep our entire stay. The first night we had a water pump going all night. The next morning the reception was very kind and agreed to move it. The second night we had a bus full of Vietnamese teenagers yelling and screaming all night long. I tried to go to reception to ask for them to be quiet, and although a light was on, no one was there to help. We enjoyed our time in Mai Chau and the lodge in general but the lodge staffs had turned us off so many times! Maybe I’m just a perfectionist who demands perfect hospitality which completely does not exist at Nature Lodge. My review is gonna be long and elaborate coz I don’t want anyone experience the horrible services like myself. #1 Dirty toilet and indifferent staff When we first entered our deluxe vally view room, I discovered that the toilet was very dirty. Called the front desk, they said they would send somebody and no apology. 15 mins passed no one showed up. I eventually had to stand in the front door of our room and waited in case someone might be passing by. I saw the cleaning lady passing us, told her our issue and she said she’d come back. She did. After one minute pouring some detergent in the toilet, she said she couldn’t do anything about it and left. #2 Horrible front desk staffs The morning of our second day, we asked a girl at the reception for bottled water, in person. She said somebody would bring some for us. That somebody never showed up! The reception area is full of smoke. While I was waiting for the bus to go back to Hanoi, the driver incessantly smoke in the middle of the tiny reception area! Also, it was raining cats and dogs outside but the reception staffs did nothing to show their care to customers. We all had to walk to our bus under the heavy rain with bare head. Shortly before then, I borrowed them an umbrella to walk to the dining hall coz I could not stand the cigarette smoke. They said they lended them all. Fine. I asked if I could make a short cut to the hall where I was least exposed to the rain. They said “No”, short and simple, with an emotionless face. They offered no sympathy whatsoever. #Rude tour guide The tour guide woman is super rude! She used vulgar words to refer to tourists who were not around. I heard she called a father and a son tourist “the old dude” and “the young dude” respectively. Those words she u Xem tiếp

Everything was good so far : the service was excellent (English speaking), the room was very clean with all you need. The food is delicious (they do set menu with several small dishes). Will recommend !! The best is the view on the rice fields when you wake up! Xem tiếp

All in all a good experience. Breakfast buffet; lunch and dinner are set menus. Food is homemade and tasty. Our rooms were large, bathroom with rain shower. Everything was very clean. Surroundings are beautiful, lovely garden and located in the middle of the rice fields. We stayed two nights. No hot water on our second night and morning, and the electricity was sketchy, probably due to thunderstorms though. Free bicycles are available, but they are in pretty bad shape. A good place to stay and enjoy the countryside of Mai Chau. Xem tiếp

Exactly what we were looking for. The bungalow room is nice and newly-renovated with wonderful view of the green field right out the window. We enjoy our quiet time reading books and bike around the village. Highly recommend for couple or whoever who is looking for a getaway from the busy city life. Xem tiếp

We stayed three nights at Mai Chau Nature Lodge. Lovely clean well appointed rooms looking across to the green rice paddies. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the two young ladies at reception have excellent English skills. We enjoyed the food and the local group that presents traditional dancing every night. How wonderful it was to stay here. We sat on the patio and looked across at gorgeous green rice paddies and watched how the farmers attend to their crops. The staff are very friendly, really helpful and the two young ladies at reception have excellent English. The food was very good. Everything was very clean. Beautiful views in a comfortable place. Only downside was lack of heat in the room. The space heater provided by the staff wasn’t quite enough. Easy walking distance to the tourist village but far enough away to avoid the noise and enjoy the scenery. The staff also very kindly brought a jacket that I had left behind all the way to Hanoi to give it back to me! I considered that an act “above and beyond “! Xem tiếp

Location is very good, Rice field and Mountain in front of Room. Staff super friendly and helpful. Room is very clean and large. Restaurant offer basic food but good taste and reasonable price. My familiy was spend all meal there and very sastify. Will comeback when go to Mai Chau. Xem tiếp

The bungalow room we stayed in was very new and very comfortable. We used the bikes provided and spent a wonderful day riding along the paths through the rice fields between villages. This is a very beautiful area. The food at the Lodge was delicious. The staff organised a taxi for us to the junction to get the bus to Dien Bien Phu. All in all a memorable experience. Xem tiếp

Perfect location away from the noise and crowds of Mai Chau town. Lac village is charming and absolutely beautiful. We were here for two nights during the rice harvest and loved seeing the farmers work their land. We suggest biking and exploring the nearby smaller villages too, which were even more charming! We rented a motorbike and went an hour drive to see the Hmong villages, which was quite the adventure! We got a flat tire after we returned into town (thank goodness we didn't get stuck in the mountains!) and the Lac villagers were so willing to go out of their way to help us. After explaining the situation to the staff at the hotel, they were very accommodating and understanding and took care of the motorbike for us. We stayed in one of the bungalows. Pros: quiet location overlooking rice fields; exceptionally clean, spacious room with a comfortable bed with view through a large window; private patio with wicker chairs and table; wonderful dinner meal (we had 'set' menu) with a variety of excellent Vietnamese dishes; great banana crepes for breakfast (variety of other breakfast items available); easy walk to 'handicraft' village; free bicycles for ride into town; friendly, accommodating and efficient staff. Cons: water pressure in shower adequate but a bit weak I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Xem tiếp
