This is a weird one: the room was great and clean; the location isn’t central but not badly connected to the centre - about 30 mins on foot; the hostel itself is nice and has a nice balcony with a pool table and room to chill; Vietnamese staff were very sweet and helpful. HOWEVER! what ruined the place for us was this English girl who worked there (not sure doing what?!) - rude, passive aggressive, zero people skills whatsoever, rolled her eyes at us like a teenager at every interaction we had lol? Not sure what her problem was but she needs a reality check: if you hate people so much maybe working in a hostel isn’t such a good idea. Here are our pro and cons of our stay. We think the experience needs some improvements.
+ cheap price for room and breakfast
- rather expensive tour for Ha Long Bay, when compared to the other agencies. Friendly, perfect english speaking guide that however lacked explanations, stories and illustrations to the visit through the bay. A dissapointment was that not all activities advertised took place. Also supposingly Monkey island was closed but no replacement activity was offered resulting in an earlier return. That does not do justice to the higher price over the other agencies.
- cleanliness and lots of insects
- outside of town (disadvantage for backpackers)
+ booked transfer to Hanoi was very good
- Scooter/Motorbike was in bad condition. Front brake didnt work. Not stoppable to rest on steep roads Xem tiếp
